Arlene Esser

MIDDLETON-Arlene M. Esser, age 85, of Middleton, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011, at UW Hospital in Madison. She was born on July 26, 1925, in Cross Plains, the daughter of John and Gertrude (Lamberty) Vosen. She married Gilbert Esser on May 21, 1947, at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Middleton. Arlene enjoyed bowling and playing euchre. She is survived by her husband, Gilbert; children, Jim (Sharon) Esser of Fitchburg, Mike (Kathy) Esser of Middleton, Carol Esser of Middleton, Kathy (George) Brumm of Middleton, and Tom (Doris) Esser of Middleton; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mildred Esser; brother, Delven "Bud" Vosen; and sister, Joann Smith. Funeral services will be held at ST. BERNARDS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Avenue, Middleton at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2011, with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Burial will be held at St. Bernards Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday. A special thank you to Dr. Sheehy, and the TLC unit nurses (especially, Kim) at the UW Hospital. Cemetery: Burial will be held at St. Bernards Catholic Cemetery.
