Adeline Sutcliffe

MADISON/NEW GLARUS-Adeline Sutcliffe, age 98, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2011 in New Glarus. She was born September 28 1912 in the Town of Vermont, WI., the daughter of Henry and Ida (Mickelson) Finke. She was one of 6 sisters and 2 brothers. Adeline and her husband Keith lived in Black Earth (on the Sutcliffe family farm) and in Madison. They had 3 children Donna Brumm, Darrell Sutcliffe, and Lynn McGrew. At the age 65, after Keith passed, Adeline was taught how to drive by her oldest grandson Don and moved to Tucson Arizona where she lived in the house where she and her husband were going to retire. She lived there for 20 years before moving to California to live with her daughter Lynn and couple years later moved back to Madison to live on her own, near her daughter Donna. Her age finally caught up to her and for the last 2 years she has been in the care of her granddaughter Robin. Adeline is survived by her daughter Lynn; a sister Lucille Prescott; six grandchildren, Don, Curt, and Steve Brumm, Taylor Sutcliffe, and Robin and Daniel McGrew; and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Keith, Adeline was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Darrell; a daughter, Donna; five sisters and two brothers. Adeline would have been 99 this year. Her sharp memory and quick wit will be missed by the ones closest to her. May her prayers be fulfilled and that she is surrounded by the loved ones who preceded her. Committal services will be held at SUNSET MEMORY GARDENS, 7302 Mineral Point Road, Madison 11:00 AM on Monday, March 28, 2011. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton The family would like to give special thanks to all those who helped in Adeline's care during her residence in New Glarus.
