Gonzales, Margaret L.
MONONA- Margaret L. Gonzales, age 95, of Monona, passed away peacefully and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 17, 2011, at HospiceCare, Inc. She was born on January 4, 1916, in Madison, the daughter of Allay and Louise Geiger. She graduated from Madison East High School, class of 1934. After graduation she moved to Chicago where she met Rodolfo Gonzalez. Margaret married Rodolfo on May 29, 1946. She lived in Chicago for 18 years before moving back to Wisconsin. Margaret loved animals and birds. She took great pleasure in feeding and caring for them. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and participating in many activities. Margaret worked for Wisconsin Bell for more than 30 years until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of AT&T Telephone Pioneers. Her faith and her family were the most important things to her. Margaret is survived by her son, Art Gonzales of Sun Prairie; grandchildren, Andrew Gonzales of Monona, and Melissa Anne (Eric) Winburn of Sun Prairie; and great-grandchildren, Forbes, Adrian, Austin and Alanna. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Leola Burling, Marian Klitzman and Violet Roisum. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, with the Rev. John Ruck presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Inurnment will be at Blooming Grove Cemetery.
