Ernest M. Nale

Photo MADISON - Ernest M. Nale, age 91, of Madison, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2011, at HospiceCare Inc. He was born on August, 14, 1919, in Rockton, Ill., the son of Charles and Cora Faye (Hunter) Nale. Ernest married Gwendolyn Mahan on January 23, 1942, in Waukon County, Iowa. He owned his own landscaping business, later built a garage and did mechanical work. Ernest enjoyed camping, playing cards, snowmobiling, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles. He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn, two children, Larry (Lynne) Nale of DeForest and Kay (Harold) Thompson of Claremore, Okla; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Carol Marie Nale; brothers, Joe and Bernard, and sisters, Eunice Erlandson and Gracie JaDoul. Funeral services will be held at ST. STEPHENS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5700 Pleasant Hill Road, Monona, at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2011. Visitation will be held at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Stephens Lutheran Church. A special thanks to Jim Eisele and Bob Mitchell.
