John Jacob Inselman

POYNETTE - John Inselman, age 88, of Poynette, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011. John Jacob Inselman was born on April 24, 1922, in Leeds Center (rural Poynette) Wisconsin, the son of August and Ida (Meyer) Inselman. He attended schools in the Leeds area and graduated from UW Madisons short course in farming. On June 15, 1957, he married Marjorie Koehl at St. Matthews in Kenosha. John enjoyed farming his familys homestead for 73 years. He traveled throughout the years with his wife and son creating special memories, including several trips to Hawaii. He enjoyed the music of the Big Band Era; listening and dancing to it with his wife, Marge. Years ago he loved driving his favorite vehicle, a 1942 Sumac Red Plymouth Convertible. John was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Madison. John is survived by his son, Gary Inselman of Poynette; a sister, Dorothy Bauer; sister-in-law, Bertha Inselman; a niece, Katherine (Gary) Koopmans; nephews, Fred (Dorothy) Inselman and Herb (Lois) Inselman; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie;hisparents; sisters, Ella and Ida; and brothers, Henry, Fred, August and Herman. Funeral services will be held at BETHEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 312 Wisconsin Ave., Madison, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2011. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Leeds.
