Obituary

Ahlvin, Elaine Ethyl DRUMMOND/MADISON-Elaine Ethyl Ahlvin passed away peacefully in her sleep at her cabin in Drummond on Tuesday, March 8, 2011. She was born Jan. 13, 1921, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Hanson) Rue. She married Elmer Ahlvin on June 20, 1943 in Joliet, Ill. Elaine worked at Rennebohm Drug Store and then Stevens House of Gifts for many years. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Elaine enjoyed fishing, especially in the Drummond area where she and Elmer had a cabin. Elaine also enjoyed bass fishing, gardening, crocheting and sewing. She is survived by her children, Geri Bemrick of Fair Oaks, Calif., and her children, Robert (Jenny) Bemrick, M.D., Tiffany (Mike) Creasey; daughter, Lynne Edgar of Citrus Heights, Calif., and her children, Jay Edgar, Michael (April) Edgar, Christopher (Dr. Katrina) Edgar, Jonathon Edgar; son, Dale Ahlvin of Grandview, Wisc., and his children, Eric (Joey) Ahlvin, Kristi (Marc) Davis, Jennifer Ahlvin; deceased son, Dennis, and his children, Dana (David) Schroeder, Jessi (James) McMillian, and Joshua (Adrianna) Ahlvin; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Lyle) Fosshage, Beverly Goff; sister-in-law, Violet Rue; and her dog, Prince. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer Ahlvin; son, Dennis Ahlvin; sister, Helen Rogne; brothers, Philip Rue and Bob Rue. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2011. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Cemetery: Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation: Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Service: Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2011.
