Obituary

STOUGHTON-Alan Earl Goldsmith, age 90, passed away on Feb. 28, 2011, at the Nazareth House in Stoughton. He was born on March 7, 1920, in Rural Evansville, the son of Earl and Eschol (Keithley) Goldsmith. Alan married Geraldine Uselman on Sept. 23, 1978, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Monona. Alan farmed the family homestead farm in the Footville area until his retirement, in 1982. He had a love for gardening, flowers, and a good hand of cribbage. Alan was also a great story teller. He is survived by his children, Carey (Lou) Uselman, Lynn (Tony Prestigiacomo) Swenson, John Uselman, Mark (Denise) Uselman, Susan (Steve) Hooker, Jeffrey (Kim) Uselman, Diane (Rich) Moretti, and Steven (Teresa) Goldsmith; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Alan was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and brothers, Keith, John, and Duane. Funeral Services will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Hwy 51, Stoughton, at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2011, with Monsignor Gerard Healy presiding. Burial will be held at Bethel Cemetery, Cty Hwy A, in Center Township, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of service on Friday. Alans family would like to thank Care Wisconsin and Nazareth House for their care given to him. Cemetery: Burial will be held at Bethel Cemetery, Cty Hwy A, in Center Township, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011. Visitation: Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of service on Friday.
