Obituary

MADISON-Judith Elaine Judy Paskey, age 71, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011 at Waunakee Manor Health Care Center. She was born on March 18, 1939 in Erie, Pa., the daughter of Leslie and Meta (Schmitt) Young. Her childhood home was in Beloit. Judy then went to college at UW-Whitewater and was a Madison resident for most of her adult life. She was kind hearted and caring. Judy was someone you could count on to share a smile and a laugh. She was a hard worker who was driven by getting a job done completely and accurately. Judy worked for 35 plus years at St. Marys Hospital in Madison as an EKG Technician and often volunteered at the hospital. She was passionate about her career and care for the patients. Judy took pride in raising her 3 boys and was quick to share their accomplishments with others. She loved road trips, Sunday drives as she called them, often resulting in visits to small towns in rural Wisc. Her must stops were local church festivals, craft shows and five and dime stores. Judy saw the beauty in everyone and everything. Her home was a Victorian delight filled with the rose tapestry quilts and pillows that she treasured. Judy was a cat lover and she provided loving homes for Sandy, Snickers and Pebbles over the years. Judy went out of her way to provide comfort to others and asked for little in return. Judy is survived by her sons, Kevin (Diane) Paskey and their children, Matthew, Emily and Isabelle, Keith (Diane) Paskey and their children Brandon and Christa, and Kyle Paskey (Art Schneider). She was preceded in death by her mother, Meta Young; father, Leslie Young; special friend, Ed Covert. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, with the Rev. Katherine Baardseth presiding. Burial will be at Eastlawn Cemetery, Beloit, Wisc. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011. A special thanks to the caring staff at Waunakee Manor, Dr. Michael Frontiera and the entire Dean Oncology staff for providing comfort and care to Judy during her final years. Cemetery: Burial will be at Eastlawn Cemetery, Beloit, Wisc. Visitation: Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011. What a lovely tribute to your matriarch in her obituary. We are thinking of you (Kevin, Diane, Matthew, Emily, and Isabel) back here in Arkansas. And we hope your mother and grandmother is resting peacefully. All of our love and support, Peter and Norah Dykema

I'm very sorry for your loss. I enjoyed growing up in Madison with Kyle and the fun times that Judy was able to provide for us all as children. She will be missed.
