Obituary

Dorothy passed away quietly at the same home where she had been for almost50 years on Thursday 2/24, She is survived and celebrated by her son,Michael Ward; granddaughter Rhea Hope Hansen-Ward and Rhea\'s mother CarlaHansen; sister, Janet DeLong; sister-in-law, Barb & her husband DorvilleNofsinger; nieces, Dawn Lutz and Deb Bosley and their extended families;as well as substantial extended family on Dorothy\'s mother\'s side andcountless beloved friends. Dorothy made a lasting impression on everybodyshe met. Her sons Max, Michael & Mitch could not have hoped for a morenurturing mother. Sadly, Mitch passed away in early childhood. Her twoother sons Michael and Max made tremendous contributions to the musiccommunity in Madison, as well as nationally and internationally. Michaelowns a music booking agency called Black \'n Tan Productions and is partowner of Maximum Ink Music Magazine, which he named after his brother Maxjust before Max passed away fifteen years ago. Max had a very successfulvoice training studio called the Voice Box with many students ofnotoriety, such as Willie Porter & sang at many prestigious engagementsincluding the Metropolitan Opera. Their accomplishments reflect thesupportive mother they were blessed with & family they came from. Memorialservices will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive,Madison, at 2 p.m., on Saturday, March 5, 2011 with Father BartTimmermann. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 p.m. untilthe time of service on Saturday. Mike, So many times I passed by your mom's house thinking of her. I noticed sometimes there was a car there and someone mowing her lawn. I even asked one of the ladies we worked with if they knew if she was still living there and ok. never heard back. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom she was a terrific lady. Very proud, self sufficient and strong. colleen pucillo
