Obituary

MADISON - Michael H. Romberg, who always liked to be called "Mike", age 45, died suddenly of a heart attack on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011. He was born on October 30, 1965, the son of Thomas and Martha Romberg. Mike was married to Katherine "Kathy" Romberg and would have celebrated 24 years together on July 15, 2011. He worked at Walgreens Distribution Center in DeForest for 11 years as a janitor. Mike loved his huskies, Casper and Fiat. They will miss him dearly. He enjoyed bowling in the NFL Bowling League, with a team called "The Packers". He also liked to play games on the computer, do handiwork around the house, and go on timeshare vacations. Mike is survived by his wife, Kathy; his parents, Thomas and Martha Romberg of Fitchburg; and two brothers, Mark Romberg of Madison and Matt (Robyn) Romberg and their children, Alexander and Gregory of Hudson. A celebration of Mikes life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m until 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011. Kathy, So sorry for your loss. It's not fair!! I know you enjoyed all those years traveling with Mike. Always heard of those exciting trips coming up. Thinking of all of you in this time of sorrow. I have many fond memories of growing up with Mike. The marathon board and card games, the rubber band fights in your basement room, flipping through his baseball card collection, and watching him work on his van while thinking, one day, one day I'LL have a van too.
