Barbara Senke

Senke, Barbara MADISON- Barbara Senke, age 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011. She was born in Rochester, N.Y., on March 21, 1924, the daughter of Charles and Lillian Lee. She met the love of her life, Henry \"Bud\" Senke and married in 1948. Together they lived a rich full life raising their two children and moving to Madison in 1970. She had a great love of music and enjoyed doing crafts, cooking, gardening and working with her hands. She truly was a sweet and gentle soul. She did not ask for much but gave generously with a kind word for everyone she met. She loved visiting with her friends and was an excellent listener and confidant. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant to the Dean of Medicine at the University of Rochester and later in Madison at Rural Insurance Company. She will be missed by many. As a devoted mother and grandmother, she was able to smile during her last days when she would spend time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Kevin and his wife Cindy; daughter, Laurie; sister, Nancy; and grandchildren, Quinn and Collin. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. A special thanks to all who cared for Barbara at Meriter Hospital and to the lovely staff at St. Mary\'s Care Center in Madison. The family is especially grateful to the staff and many friends at Harbour Assisted Living in Greendale. Your kindness, warmth and love over these many years will not be forgotten.
