Obituary

MCFARLAND-Marcia A. Rayho, of McFarland, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011. She was born on Dec. 2, 1946, in Manitowoc, the daughter of William Arthur and Helen (Barlow) McNown. Marcia attended Madison East and LaFollette High Schools, the University of Wisconsin, and the Madison Area Technical College nursing program. Marcia retired last year from Meriter Hospital in Madison, after a long career as a registered nurse. One of Marcias great passions was world travel. During her lifetime she visited many countries, spanning five continents. Marcia is survived by her devoted husband, John; her loving children, John IV and Sarabeth (Evan) Ackerman; stepdaughters, Kara (Hossam) Shalaby, Dawn, Elizabeth (John) Thalgott, and Donna; grandchildren, Alexandra, Amir and Basem; sister,Miriam (Steve) Johnson; brother, Robert (Kathy); and nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, with the Rev. Kerri Parker presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Marcia will be dearly missed. I use to see Marcia at shift change. Often times I would take over caring for her patients. I will always remember her smile; she had a beautiful smile. May your memories of her comfort you now and in the days ahead. Please accept my sincere condolences.

To the family of Marica, I sat on the executive board with her at SEIU Healthcare Wis. I did get to know her we talked together for 5 minutes at a meeting. She spoke of her family and her love for them. The Master has called Marica home. To Marica's family "Peace Be Still" Love Norma Silas-Martin
