MADISON-Gordon J. Napstad, Gordy passed away on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011 at Four Winds Manor in Verona. Gordy was born on Sept. 27, 1927, the son of Jesse and Gusta (Huseth) Napstad. Gordy graduated from Madison Central High School, and went on to serve in the U.S. Army from 1944-1945. Throughout his life, Gordy had a love of cars and boats. He pursued his passion for cars in his work. He was recognized as a top salesperson for several Madison dealerships before going on to open his own dealership, Gordon Cars. Later, Gordy switched gears and opened A-1 Transmission Service with his partner Mike. Gordy realized a long-held dream, with his wife Marilyn, when he purchased his first home on the shore of Lake Monona in 1957. Gordy gained great enjoyment from boating and socializing around the lake. He was a charter member of the Four Lakes Yacht Club where he was known for his warm, generous personality. Gordys mantra was Give er the gas meaning, have fun! Enjoy! Gordy would later move to Monona where he lived on Interlake Drive, with his wife Mary (Beauchaine). We will always remember Gordy as a warm, loving husband, father and grandfather. My mom called me today to tell me of Gordy's passing. Mark told me several years ago that Gordy had Alzheimer's, so I'm sure this was expected, but painful none the less. I hope his funeral will be a time to celebrate the generous, gregarious Gordy with his great sense of humor, before he became ill. Best wishes Mary.

Gadig adig adog....I remember Gordy saying that...never knew what it meant...but that's ok. Will remember with great fondness Gordy and dad (Bob Neesvig) singing about that "little boat house on Squaw Bay". Hugs to the family, I'm sorry for your loss.
