Obituary

Hausen, Garry F. STOUGHTON - Garry F. Hausen, age 69, of Stoughton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at home. He was born on Dec. 14, 1941, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Garry W. and Theresa (Samson) Hausen. Garry graduated from Mukwonago Union High School in 1960. He was united in marriage to Diana Peterson on Nov. 9, 1963, at St. James Catholic Church in Mukwonago. Garry spent one year in the U.S. Naval Academy (he marched in the John F. Kennedy inaugural parade). He then worked for the State of Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation from 1964 until 1979. In 1979 he was a field representative for the Wisconsin State Employees Union, retiring in 2002. Garry was a member of the Masonic Kegonsa Lodge No. 73 in Stoughton and American Legion Post 534 in McFarland, He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and hunting. Garry was a Packers and Navy football fan. He is survived by his wife, Diana; three sons, Garry Todd (Amy) of Stoughton, Jeffery (Lori) of Schaumburg, Ill., and Christopher (Karen) of Madison; six grandchildren, Alyssa, Brandon, Garry Ryan, Jakob, Noelle and Dylan; two brothers, Robert (Rosemary) of New York City, New York, and Michael (Phyllis) of Waukesha. Garrywas preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Don. Memorial services will held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Highway 51, Stoughton, at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, with Monsignor Gerard Healy presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
