MIDDLETON-Douglas Anthony Asplin passed away January 2, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Morris, IL., on July 18, 1953. In his youth, the family moved to Middleton where he lived the remainder of his life. Doug graduated from Middleton High School in 1971. He loved to fish, golf and he enjoyed the outdoors. Private services were held. Memorial contributions can be made to the James G. Asplin Educational Trust Fund, c/o State Bank of Cross Plains- Trust Dept. P.O. Box 218, Cross Plains, WI. 53528.A special thanks to all who touched his life.A True FishermanA true fisherman knows when and wherethe fish are biting.He rises up early in the morning,playing the water for the elusive catch,waiting in the stillness for a nibble. A slight twitch in the line,expertly he reels it in.A good fisherman knows a keeperwhen he sees one, he knows when to tossone back, and when to head for home. May God rest your soul good friend. I remember back in 1985 when we went to school at Madison Buisiness College. Up early every morning, eat breakfast at Lindas & off to school. I probably wouldn't have made it many days without knowing I was going to start it with my friend Doug. xoxo Deb
