Doris M. Etmanczyk

Etmanczyk, Doris M.MADISON - Doris M. Etmanczyk, age 84, of Madison, passed away on Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, after a lengthy illness. She was born on Sept. 13, 1926, in Racine, the daughter of Stephen and Ann (Wilke) Proctor. Doris graduated in 1944 from Horlick High School in Racine. She was united in marriage to Clair Etmanczyk on Jan. 11, 1947. Doris and Clair moved to Madison in the 60s and raised their family. She was a great influence in her family's life, from sporting events to their education and always kept a great sense of humor. Doris worked for Swiss Colony for 26 years before retiring. She enjoyed traveling and was very involved with raising her two grandsons, Chris and Matt (Diana) Etmanczyk. Even through her illness, Doris always remained positive. Doris is survived by her husband of 64 years, Clair; daughter, Diane Nolte of Madison; son, Jim (Mary) Etmanczyk; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Fran Rice. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dan Etmanczyk; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Levknecht; three brothers; and a sister. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, with Father Bart Timmerman presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
