Obituary
MIDDLETON-Myron "Butch" A. Ledworowski, age 60, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011, after a brief battle with cancer. He was a beloved friend, uncle, brother, builder, and biker (a Harley, of course). One of his joys was savoring a ride around southern Wisconsin with the love of his life, Doreen. A self-proclaimed Jerry Garcia look-alike, Butch's sense of fun and playfulness influenced everything he did. Butch was born August 4, 1950 in Beaver Dam, the son of Edwin and Lucille (Sadowski) Ledworowski. He grew up on a farm near Reeseville. After graduating from Reeseville High School in 1968, Butch joined the Navy and spent three years in the Mediterranean. He was honorably discharged in 1972 and enrolled in Grossmont College in El Cajon, California where he graduated with an associate arts degree. In 1977, Butch earned a BA in industrial arts from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California. He returned to Wisconsin in 1980 and started his own remodeling business, Lil' America Builders, based in Middleton. Butch was a member of the Madison Area Builders Association and the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, holding every officer position, including President in 1988. Butch was a chairman of the NARI Education Committee and served as a member of the 1990 Inaugural Remodeling Expo Committee. He received national recognition in 1994 when he was named to Big 50, an annual list of Achievers in the Remodeling Industry, by Remodeling Magazine and was a 2004 recipient of NARI Madison's Lifetime Achievement Award. Butch is survived by Doreen Griesbach, his loving partner of 22 years, his father-in-law, James Griesbach of Beaver Dam, his sisters, Mary (Wayne) Woolever of Columbus and Joan Witkowski of Madison; his sisters-in-law, Debbie (Jeff) Omen of Beaver Dam, Karen (Paul) Tropp of Janesville; his brother-in-law, Gordon (Linda) Griesbach of Langley, Washington; his nieces, Brenda ( Rich) Gavinski of Lodi, Teri Witkowski (fianc Craig Robida) of Madison, Kim Woolever of Columbus and Alison Ledworowski (fianc James Wicks-Stephens) of Las Vegas, Nevada; his nephews, Dan (Rebecca) Woolever of Columbus, Tim (Cheri) Witkowski of Madison, Jake and Shane Omen of Beaver Dam, and Josiah Tropp of Janesville; his great-niece, Kayla Gavinski of Lodi and great-nephew Logan Woolever of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law, Betty Griesbach, his brothers Gene, Paul and Joe and his sister-in-law Marge Moriva. Butch\'s passions were music, motorcycling, racquetball, running, puns, and practical jokes. His boundless sense of humor and immense generosity made him a cherished family member, friend, neighbor, businessman and community member. Prayer services will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton at 4:00 PM on Thursday, January 13, 2011. Visitation will follow from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a scholarship fund that will be established in Butch's name and to a charity of his and Doreen's choice. The family wishes to thank Dr. McFarland, Dr. Weber, and the chaplains, nurses, and staff who assisted Butch with his peaceful passing at Meriter Hospital. We are also grateful for the dedicated work of his staff at Lil' America Builders who are continuing Butch's lifetime passion in his memory.

Butch, I'm thinking about how much happier the heavens are today after greeting you on Sunday. I'm sure after you said "I'm Butch Ledworoski, how do you like me so far," they love you already. Give my Dad a hug for me, and remember to keep the jokes clean, it is heaven after all. I love you and miss you.
