Eloise M. Mattern

MADISON-Eloise M. Mattern, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011 at Parkside Independant and Assisted Living in DeForest. She was born on Aug. 20, 1922, in Plymouth, the daughter of William and Hermina (Klingsborn) Lindow. Eloise married her high school sweetheart, William Mattern in 1941, in Sheboygan. She was a champion golfer and avid tennis player. Eloise is survived by her husband, William; daughter, Kathy; brother, Robert Lindow; sister-in-law, Ruth Dusold; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, James Lindow. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Dane County Humane Society. A special thank you to Dr. James Couser, Dr. Amy Daley, Dr. Roy Ozanne, Dr. Stephen DeWitt, Bernie and Bob Hartwig, Pat Biddick, Nitsa Marcandanatou, Jenny from HospiceCare, Karen Schacht and the staff at Parkside and Coventry for all of their special care of Eloise.
