Edna Louise Allen

MONONA- Edna Louise Allen, age 90, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011. She was born on Aug. 20, 1920 in Arkansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Raymond and Tillie Mae Kelsey. Louise married William H. Allen on June 25, 1944 in Pampa, Texas. She was a graduate of Arkansas City High School. Louise was a member of the Christian Community Church in Madison. She enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the United States in their motor home. Louise especially loved the time she spent at home taking care of her family. In addition to her husband, Bill, she is survived by her children, Don (Joan) Allen and Deb (Bill) Liesenfeld; grandchildren, Robyn (Henry DeBoer) Allen-DeBoer, David (Danelle) Allen, Kurt (Paula) Gross, Heather (Matt Wilson) Sweeney, Stephanie (Jayme) Johnson and Brad (Sarah) Liesenfeld; 8 great-grandchildren; and brother, Jack (Barbara) Kelsey of Oklahoma. Louise was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Harriet and Bernadine. Funeral services will be held at COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 5020 Maher Ave, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 14, 2011 with the Rev. Bob Lawrence presiding. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday.
