Obituary

MADISON - The world became a quieter place in the morning hours of Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, when a passionate and talented soul, who didnt get to meet his potential, put down his last drum tracks. His music was his soul mate that helped him battle and carry him through his journey of highs and lows. Brian was born and raised in Madison, where he graduated from LaFollette High School in 2003. He was proud of his work and making new friends at Captel Inc. Brian was currently involved with several different projects with many fellow musicians including one very close to his heart for a friend who also left us too soon. He was sincere, spiritual, intelligent, witty and always there for a friend. His passing is deeply felt by his parents, David and Deanne Dyke; a sister, Lacey Dean and her children, Adeline and Bronson Dean; Laceys fianc, Demetri Zaremba; uncles, Don (Anne Bogar) Dyke, Gary (Cindi) Dyke, and Robert Zelenka; aunt, Eileen Kilbane; the loves of his life, Carsin Dushek and her daughter, Chessa; his grandparents, Don and Thelma Dyke and Clay and Betty Zelenka; and many cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Darlene John. Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, with the Rev. Brad Homan presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his parents who will use this money for future music projects that Brian would have endorsed. Your ideas and suggestions will be appreciated. Family and close friends, I send my most genuine condolences. I will always remember the many days we, as kiddos, spent running around! Brian was a great friend from the beginning. As the years distanced us, we managed to stay connected. This proves he was a loyal individual. He will never be forgotten. Stay strong! Again, I am deeply sorry. With love, H. Hillmer

My heart breaks for all of you, the whole family and friends of Brian. I remember Brian. Such a nice guy. He was a nice friend to my Michael too. Loosing our Michael is life changing... as for you with Brian. I hope they rock the heavens.

Brian has been one of my closest friends since elementary school. To even try to imagine living in a world without him in it seems impossible right now. He was the most caring, selfless person I knew and the best friend I could have ever been lucky enough to have. My thoughts and prayers to the Dyke family, Carsin , and anyone else who's life was touched by Brian. You are missed so much already Nacho. Love, Cheeto

Brian was an inspiration to many, even to ones who lost touch. I only wish we could have spent more time together in the recent past. You were a great individual and my condolences to your family. You will be in my thoughts.
