Obituary

Froehling, Marilyn R.STOUGHTON - Marilyn R. Froehling, age 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, at Nazareth Health and Rehabilitation, Stoughton, from Alzheimer's disease. She was born on June 27, 1934, in Warren, Minn., the daughter of Roger and Dorothy (Beech) Howe. Marilyn graduated from Hamline University School of Nursing in 1955. She married Rodney C. Froehling on Nov. 2, 1957. Marilyn and Rodney lived in Duluth for many years. Marilyn was active in the Duluth Women's Club and served as its president from 1992 to 1994. She enjoyed her morning four and a half mile walk, playing bridge with her many friends, and spending time with her grandchildren. Marilyn is survived by her children, Brenda (Richard) Keiser of Brooklyn, Brian (Doreen) Froehling of Edgewood, Ky., and John (Deb) Froehling of Arden Hills, Minn.; grandchildren, Kerry and Jenna Keiser, and Ryan Froehling. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings. A memorial celebration will be held in the spring in Duluth, Minn. Internment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minn. Memorials may be made to the Duluth Women's Club or to your local Alzheimer's Association. The family would like to thank the staff at Nazareth Health and Rehabilitation for their excellent and compassionate care of Marilyn the last two years. Even in the later stages of Alzheimer's when wheelchair bound, she enjoyed activities at Nazareth and walks in the neighborhood. Marilyn was well known at Nazareth for her sense of humor and giggles. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Duluth Women\'s Club or to your local Alzheimer's Association. Cemetery: Internment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minn. Service: A memorial celebration will be held in the spring in Duluth, Minn.
