FITCHBURG- John F. Wysocki, age 81, of Fitchburg, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010. He was born on April 9, 1929 in Ellis, the son of Francis X. and Clara E. (Grenier) Wysocki. John spent his early years working with his father on the family farm and other associated ventures. He graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1946, and served in the U.S. Navy on a Destroyer Escort from 1951-1955, during which he rose to the rank of Petty Officer First Class. Upon completion of his military duties he worked for the Independent Milwaukee Brewery (Braumeister) while he completed his degree in Business Administration at Marquette University. In 1956, he married Janet Milanowski of Polonia. Their marriage lasted for 43 years until her death in 1999. After graduation John worked as a representative of Mobil Oil Corporation, stationed in Dubuque, Iowa before he began work for the Social Security Administration in 1961. He would clip and send items of information to them which delighted people because he remembered their special interest. John had a distinctive voice. When he said hello on the phone, it was quickly followed by his warm familiar laugh. In addition to family and friends, John loved feeding and watching the many birds, squirrels and chipmunks he attracted to his backyard. He loved everything that was alive and growing and always left things to grow because God put them there. He spent many years hunting and fishing with family members especially his brother Francis, with whom he enjoyed over 40 years of annual Canada fishing trips. I remember going to Grandma and Grandpa's house (Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle John to you Wysocki's !) when Johnnny was in school and staying with them, so I feel like I knew him better than the rest of the family, until recent years. What a lively and kind person he was. And he was always so good to my dad. We are so sorry that he will not longer be here to spread his laughter and joy of living. Our hearts go out to you for this loss of your husband, brother, father and friend. Jim and Marcia Hock
