Obituary
MONONA/MADISON/OREGON - Everett Merle "Ev" Bewick, age 89, passed away on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He was born on Oct. 3, 1921, the son of Royal and Clara (Lee) Bewick. Everett proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. His military career began as he was stationed at Pearl Harbor and survived the attack on Dec. 7, 1941. This was a life changing event for Everett and his family was very thankful for his safe return. Everett married Margaret "Ilene" Zwank on June 16, 1951, at Luther Memorial Church in Madison. He was co-owner of Ace Electric for many years. Everett was an active member of the Doric Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite Bodies, the Zor Shrine and then became a member of the Escort Patrol. He also belonged to the VFW Post No. 1318 and was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church. Everett truly has enjoyed contributing his time alongside his fellow Masons, to help achieve their Zor Shrine goals. He also enjoyed sports, such as bowling and softball. He is survived by his brother, Wayne (Ruth) Bewick; many nieces and nephews; his fellow Shriners; as well as many wonderful friends, including, Bob and Karen Everson, Louie and Mary Ann Fahey, and Bob and Barb Larson. Everett was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret "Ilene"; sons, Stephen and David; daughter, Susan; sister, Iola Kinney; and a brother, Harold Bewick. Funeral Services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010 with Rev. Tim Hanson presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, with military rites being conducted. Memorials may be made to St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Food Pantry, 5700 Pheasant Hill Rd., Monona, WI 53716. A special thank you to the staff at Sylvan Crossings of Fitchburg for all their wonderful care and also to HospiceCare Inc for their kindness and care during Evs final days.
