Obituary

MONONAStacey Ann (Kain) Sweeney, age 45, of Monona, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on March 9, 1965, in Richland County, the daughter of Carroll and Suzanne Kain. Stacey graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1983, and from cosmetology school in 1985. Stacey was united in marriage to Mike Sweeney on April 15, 2000, in Madison. She was a hairstylist at The Ultimate Spa Salon and most recently at Studio Z. More than anything, Staceys main desire in life was to become a mother. On April 8, 2005, that dream became reality as Stacey and Mike welcomed Gabriela into their life. She was a very devoted and caring mother. Prior to Gabriela joining her life, Stacey loved to travel to warm and sunny climates, as well as attend Wisconsin Badgers games. Stacey was a giving person, offering her hand or heart to anyone who needed it. She is survived by her husband, Mike; daughter, Gabriela; mother, Suzanne; sister, Kandy (Robb) Norman; brother, Jeff (Connie) Kain; Mike's parents, Joe and Jackie Sweeney and their family;many nieces and nephews;her other baby, her dog, Olivia; and numerous best friends. Stacey was preceded in death by her father, Carroll "Sug" Kain. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11 a.m., on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, with Father Bart Timmerman presiding. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010 and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare, Inc. A special thank you to the staff at Sunny Hill Health Care Center, the ICU nurses at Meriter and the entire HospiceCare organization for their care given to Stacey as well as their support to her family. We love you up to the sky forever! Highball the gate with Suggie. Memorials: Memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc. Cemetery: Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. I don't know if any of you remember me. It's been so long. But I remember you all well (including, Sug). You were always so kind to me. I was married to Jim Rustad. He & I remain close. He has kept me somewhat informed of Stacey these past several years. Stacey was always the sunshine in a world of gray. She left an imprint on my heart...even though our paths didn't cross again. She will be deeply missed. Love to you all.
