Obituary
Sorum, Robert E. "Bob"MADISON - Robert E. "Bob" Sorum, age 70, of Madison, peacefully passed away after a brief illness on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at home. He was born on March 15, 1940, the son of Edmond and Regina (Farr) Sorum. Bob graduated from East High School. After high school he served in the U.S. Army for three years. Bob worked for Madison Gas & Electric for 39 years as a service technician. He married Margaret on March 26, 1996, in Las Vegas, Nev. After he retired, Bob and Margaret loved to travel, especially to the warmer climates. He enjoyed boating and going up north with his family, and was an avid Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers fan. Bob was very outgoing and loved helping his friends and neighbors, and tinkering with cars and furnaces. Bob was a former member of the Elks Club, and a member of American Legion Post 59, in Stoughton, and of the MG&E union. Bob is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons, Tom (Kim) and Rick; step-daughters, Janice (Bruce) Manning of Missouri, Donna (Dan) Osborne of Kansas, Diana (Rod) Durnell of Missouri, Cynthia (Steve) Todorich of Pennsylvania and Angela Raffurty of Missouri; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary (Paul Downey) Harbort, Lori (Bill) Redepenning, Rhonda (Larry) Fautch; brother, Jim (Jule); sister-in-law, Darlene (Jerry) Craven of Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Rob; and his parents. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday , Dec. 22, 2010. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park with military honors. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. The family would like to give special thanks to friends and neighbors for their acts of kindness and the staff at the UW Hospital Paul Carbone Center.
Cemetery:
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park with military honors.
Visitation:
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday , Dec. 22, 2010. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park with military honors. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until
