Obituary
MADISON- Heaven is a different place. On Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, Margaret E. Dye, age 92, of Madison, passed through its gates, rendering paradise even more beautiful. She was born on May 26, 1918, in Madison, the daughter of George and Mary (Beyler) Esser. She married William F. Dye on Nov. 17, 1945, in Madison. Margaret graduated from Edgewood High School and the College of Health Sciences at Marquette University with a degree in dental hygiene and worked many years as a dental hygienist. Margaret was also a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. She was active in its Altar Society, choir and many other church activities. She was an avid bowler, participating in numerous leagues and many State and National Tournaments highlighted by an individual Senior Women's State Championship and runner up National Championship in 1991. She was a talented baker and crafter, known especially for her lefsa and scrubbies. She taught everyone who knew her the importance of family, friendship and faith. Margaret is survived by her husband of 65 years, William; sons, Robert (Jean) Dye of Madison, Richard (Joni) Dye of Madison; four grandchildren, James, Robert (Kristie), Daniel (Shary) and Kristen (John) Ehle; 9 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Darin, Lilly, Klairissa, Bailey, Brooke, Lucas, Kirk and Jackson; four sisters, Betty Ferguson of Illinois, Mary Wenger, Georgia Wiverstad and Carol Barry all of Madison; sisters-in-law, Ruth Esser and Alice Dodge of Madison, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Joseph Esser. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave., Madison, at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, with Monsignor Michael Hippee presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday. In her last days, Margaret received tender, loving care from numerous guardian angels at St. Mary's Hospital. In recognition of their gifts of comfort and care, memorials may be made to St. Marys Foundation.
