Audrey Hammond

MADISON-Audrey A. Hammond, age 97, of Madison passed away on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 14, 1913, in Minnesota Lake, Minn., the daughter of Richard and Maude (Gillson) Lutz. She married Edwin Hammond on March 6, 1942, in Minneapolis, Minn. Audrey was a secretary for the State of Wisconsin for 17 years. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandsons. She also enjoyed gardening, bird watching and reading. Audrey is survived by her sons, Larry Hammond of Stoughton and Phil Hammond of Madison; grandsons, Richard (Jackie) Hammond of McFarland and Kevin (Tracy) Hammond of Stoughton; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Alaina Hammond; and sister, Mary Stenzel of Madison Lake, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin in 2007; brothers, Richard Melvin Lutz and Byron Lutz; and sister, Electa Schommer. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010. Entombment will be held at Highland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday. A special thank you to the staff of Meriter Hospital, Meriter Home Health and Oak Park Place for the care they gave Audrey. Cemetery: Entombment will be held at Highland Memorial Gardens.
