Harold E. Omen

MONONA-Harold Earl Omen, age 84, died on Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at Heritage Monona. He was born on Dec. 14, 1925, in Madison, the son of Earl and Rose (Anderson) Omen. Harold was proud that his great-grandparents came to Madison in 1854. He graduated from Madison West High School in 1943 and attended UW-Madison. Harold and Marjorie (Chatfield) Omen were married April 3, 1948. They were blessed with two sons, David of Billings, Mont. and Donald of Madison; and two granddaughters, Sarah of Seattle, Wash. and Kristine of Madison. Harold worked for 23 years at Zimbrick Buick doing tune-up and electrical work. He was a well respected mechanic. Harold had many skills and could repair or fix most anything. He also worked for 10 years at St. Marys Hospital doing specialty repair work. Harold was a member of the Model T Club and Model A Restorers Club for many years. He also rode and restored antique motorcycles. He was a lifelongactive Presbyterian. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m until 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, 2010. Memorials may be made in Harolds name to HospiceCare.
