O'Connor, Adam PaulCross Plains-Adam Paul O'Connor, age 50, of Cross Plains, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2010, from kidney cancer at the HospiceCenter in Fitchburg. Adam was born on August 12, 1960 in Billings, Montana, and spent the majority of his life in the Madison area. Adam worked for many years at Cuna Mutual, and most recently worked for CCI Coakley Tech, for over 7 years as the operations manager, where he continued to work throughout his illness. Adam loved the outdoors, he spent many years mountain and long distant biking then later moved on to his Harley, then his Mustang convertible. He enjoyed his "cheese runs" on the Harley with Lisa and friends, plus many weekends at their "little slice of paradise", which included many walks with the dogs. Adam had a love for his pets, his dogs included Foots, Boo, Opie, Floyd, Duke. He leaves behind his dog Stella and her sister Peaches. Adam is survived by his children David, age 21, and Nicole, age 20, both of Middleton; and their mother Janet O'Connor of Black Earth; his brother Mike of Middleton; and his soul mate Lisa Korth of Belleville. He was preceded in death by his parents David O'Connor and Judith O'Connor-Hansen, and Paul Hansen. A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 25, 2010. A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for his children is being established. Following the memorial service, friends are welcome to join in a celebration of Adam's life at Morgan's in Pine Bluff from 7:00 PM until 9:00 P.M. Adam, you were my closest friend in high school. I can't imagine what those years would have been like if not for your presence, although I know that they would not have been nearly as much fun.
David and Nicole, your Dad was a good man with a quick wit, a perceptive intelligence and genuine friendliness and kindness that made him very special to all of us who have been blessed to call him a friend. No words can do justice to him but please know that he lives on in all of our hearts.
