Eugene Odegaard,

MADISON/LOS ANGELES, CALIF.-Eugene Arthur Odegaard, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010. Gene was born in Madison, an only child of Eugene and Edna Odegaard. He graduated with a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He married Eleanor Schrotz in 1942, and moved to Hartford, Conn., to begin his career at Pratt and Whitney. Gene and Eleanor moved to California where he went on to work for Marquardt Corporation, TRW and Litton Industries, lending his expertise to rocket booster and naval weapons design patents. He is survived by his second wife, Mable Rogers Odegaard; daughter, Susan Odegaard Turner; step-daughter, Patty Rogers Nygren; and grandchildren, Angela and Jordan Turner. A graveside service will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010.
