PHILLIPS MARY E.\r\n
MIDDLETON-Mary E. Phillips, age 86, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2010 . She was born on September 25, 1924, in Plain, the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Lins) Thering. Mary was united in marriage to Leo Korbach in 1947. He preceded her in death in 1955. She later met and married LeRoy Phillips on September 27, 1958, at the Church of the Nativity, in Dubuque, Iowa. She worked for 16 years at the University of Wisconsin as supervisor in food service. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, LeRoy Phillips of Middleton; a daughter, Bonni (Jerry) Tomczak of Maple Bluff; a son, Mark (Candelle) Phillips of Ashton; four grandchildren, Jason (Beth) Sniff, Alyson (Tim) Heelan, Larissa Tomczak and Codi Phillips; five great-grandchildren, Brenna, Jackson, Carter, Ella and Delaney; a sister, Imelda Misslich and two brothers, Raymond Thering and Dr. Harland (Jane) Thering. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a son William; three brothers, Clement, Paul and Albert and four sisters, Lorraine, Sister Rose, Bernice and Lucille. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD\'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., Middleton at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 25, 2010 with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Burial will be in St. John\'s Cemetery, Spring Green. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton from 2:00 PM until 4:00 on Sunday, October 24, 2010 and also on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of St. Mary\'s Hospital and HospiceCare for their loving care given to Mary. She will always be remembered for putting the needs of family and friends above those of her own. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to HospiceCare or St.\r\n

Burial will be in St. John\'s Cemetery, Spring Green.

Visitation will be at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 24, 2010 and also on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.

I will always remember being the flower girl for the wedding of Mary and Leo, great memory for me. Also I still can see the house on the farm and in Spring Green that I was able to stay at in my younger years.
