MADISON-Delores Elaine Ewers, age 79, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010. She was born on May 5, 1931, in Fort Collins, Colo., the daughter of Kenneth and Calma (Olson) Hay. Delores married her high school sweetheart, Jack Ewers on Aug. 28, 1952, in Soldiers Grove. She graduated from Soldiers Grove High School in 1949. Delores was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was an avid bowler, participating in many leagues from 1965 until 2009. She also enjoyed traveling and trips to casinos. Delores was a very positive and happy person. She made friends very easily, always talking to strangers. Delores was never heard saying an unkind word about anyone in her whole life. She was very family oriented and loved her children, grandsons and her great-granddaughter. Delores is survived by her husband, Jack; daughters, Terri Rahn (Joe Peterson), Shari (Art) Mackesey and Kathy (Mike Ruhde) Ewers; seven grandsons, Derek, Lee, Jack, Rob, Alex, Michael and Kenny; great-granddaughter, Kailee; sister, Lois (Clayton) Hanson of Viroqua; brother, Robert (Karen) Hay of Vancouver, Wash.; sister-in-law, Ruby Hay of Beloit;and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by herbrother, Richard.Funeral services will be held at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1904 Winnebago Street, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, with theRev. Jeff Tomberlin presiding.A private family burial will take place at a later date at Highland Memory Gardens. \"Come on TRIPLE SEVENS!

Jack, we all love seeing you and Delores and the girls at Mom's, 429 Sidney, in Madison. Delores never failed to make us giggle. Her humor was her key feature. I looked UP to "you guys" in many ways, as a dear friend of Duane's who also more than tolerated his little sister. YOu were the handsomest guy at SGHS and only Delores could catch you, You two helped Mom so muchand I appreciate it to this day. We share in your sorrow. We pray many blessings for you all.
