Dorothy June Harrass

MADISON - Dorothy J. Harrass, age 90, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at Oak Park Place. She was born on Dec. 9, 1919, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Casimir and Victoria (Borzynski) Kerwin. Dorothy married Franklin Harrass on Aug. 26, 1939, in Milwaukee. She spent her retirement years in Arkansas, reading, gardening, and spending time with her friends playing bridge. Dorothy also enjoyed music and spent many hours sewing and knitting. Dorothy is survived by her sons, James (Rebecca) Harrass of Columbus, Ohio, and Leland (Cheryl Dugan) Harrass of Cherokee Village, Ark.; daughters, Linda Walta of Madison, Barbara Harrass of Madison, and Vicki (Mark) Scott of McFarland; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and sister, Audrey Koshakow of Hot Springs Village, Ark., along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sister, Esther Tojek. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, with the Rev. Mark Petersen presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at a later date at Cherokee Village United Methodist Church in Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Macular Degeneration Foundation or Alzheimers Association.A special thank you to the staff at Oak Park Place, Meriter Hospital and HospiceCare.
