Ruth Lunde

MADISON - Ruth Lunde, long time Wisconsin resident and widow of Carl Mandt Lunde, died October 13, 2010, at the age of 93, in Paris, Tenn. She was born on Aug. 20, 1917, on the Homstad farm in rural Westby, the daughter of William AugustHomstad and Emma (Christianson) Homstad. Ruth is lovingly remembered by daughters, Marion Soukup of Hinsdale, Ill., and Lois Hasz Barney of Paris,Tenn.; and daughter and son-in-law Sonja and George Vajda of Littleton, Colo.; as well as ten grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren, John (Tracy) Soukup, son Ian of Littleton, Colo., Jim (Tricia) Soukup, sons Kyle and Graham of Telluride, Colo,. Julie Soukup (Pat) Dillon, son Charlie, daughter Angela of Centennial, Colo., Heidi Hasz (Ben) Heideveld, daughters Hannah and Halley of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Geoffrey Hasz, daughter Hazel of Hidden Valley Lake, Calif., Carl Hasz of San Francisco, Calif., Attilee Hasz (Kristian) Dalene, daughters Maile and Sophia of Arendal, Norway, Karen Vajda (Darren) Bordeaux, son Tyler, daughters Allison and Ashley of Ladera Ranch, Calif., Stephanie Vajda of Denver, Colo., and Brian (Blair) Vajda of Boulder, Colo.; also her brother and sister-in-law, Wilmer and Betty Homstad of Westby; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; infant son Carl William Lunde; sisters and brothers-in-law Naomi and Paul Aro of San Francisco, Calif., and Carol and Archie Sloane of Westby. Ruths life will be celebrated at ST. MARKS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 605 Spruce Street, Madison, at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010 with the Rev. Mary Pharmer presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
