Obituary
MADISON- Isabel Charlene Whitcomb, age 81, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at HospiceCare Inc. surrounded by her family. She was born on Nov. 2, 1928, in Madison, at St. Marys Hospital, the daughter of Charles and Isabel (Johnson) Fredrick. Charlene graduated from Madison East High School in 1946. She married Gerald Jerry Whitcomb on Feb. 12, 1949 at Lake Edge United Church of Christ in Madison. Charlene worked as an administrative assistant with Ohmeda, retiring after 33 years. After her retirement, she volunteered with Oakwood Village East Library. Charlene is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gerald Jerry daughter, Amy Whitcomb; son, Jon (Janalee); grandchildren, Travis (Stacy) Whitcomb, Andrea Whitcomb and Melanie Whitcomb; great-granddaughter, Evalynn Mae; sister, Bonnie Mae Konrad; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gorthea and Ralph Noll; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Brinkhoff; and brother, Roland Kleinsmith. A memorial service will be held at OAKWOOD VILLAGE EAST, Tree of Life Chapel, on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Byron Bunge and Rev. Lisa Schoenwetter presiding. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be made in Charlenes name to Oakwood Village, HospiceCare Inc., or Lake Edge United Church of Christ.
