Obituary

LODI/MADISON Floyd Lee Pfeifer, age 88, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Good Samaritan Center Lodi. Lee was born to Thomas and Ada Mae (Cook) Pfeifer in Jonesboro, Ark. He entered the Army on Aug. 1, 1942, serving in Italy. Lee met his wife LaVonne Hemanson upon his return to the States. They were married on Feb. 9, 1946, in Madison. Lee started work at Oscar Mayer and Company shortly before his marriage and worked more than 35 years before retiring. He enjoyed music of all kinds and enjoyed watching sports on TV, especially baseball and the Green Bay Packers. Lee is survived by a daughter, Judith; three sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Adolph) Falk of Poynette, Charleen Hermanson of Madison, and Janice (Duane) Moore of LaCrosse; many nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Sonja Albright, who has served as his guardian for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sons, Tom in 2001, and Dave in 2002; and two brothers. The family would like to thank the staff at Good Samaritan Center Lodi for the years of care and compassion given to Floyd. Funeral services will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, 401 Femrite Dr., Monona, at 2p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, with the Rev. John Swanson presiding.
