Irene Wells

MIDDLETON-Irene F. Wells, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the Waunakee Manor. She was born on September 22, 1912, in Gleason, the daughter of August and Lillian (Barr) Detjens. Irene graduated from Tomahawk High School in 1931. She was united in marriage to Harold W. Wells on June 2, 1936, in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death in 1999. She worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for over 40 years with her husband for Wells Electric of Middleton. Irene was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and the Melody Chapter #150 Order of the Eastern Star of Middleton. She is survived by two sons, Richard A. (Mary) Wells of Mazomanie and Daryl G. (Sue) Wells of Lake Mills, six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald A. Detjens and Ellis R. Detjens; two sisters, Dorothy (Belle) Debuhr and Donna J. Drewitz. In addition to her husband, Harold Wells, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Henry A. Detjens and David I. Detjens; a sister, Lillian E. Norton; a grandson, Jason P. Wells and a great grandson, Mark Wells III. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave, Middleton at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 18, 2010 with the Reverend Ty Lacey Sims Hines presiding. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Madison. Visitation will be held from 9:00 Am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Cemetery: Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Madison.
