Obituary

MONONA-Cheryl Ann Hermanson, age 50, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at home. She was born on July 14, 1960, in Madison, the daughter of Jerry Hermanson and Karen (Weston) Hermanson. Cheryl graduated from Madison East High School after spending her senior year in Brazil with the AFS program. She attended UW-Madison where she studied language, which lead to teaching English in Tokyo and being fluent in Japanese. Cheryls knowledge of the Japanese language brought her into a career on Wall Street managing stock funds for a Japanese corporation. During her time in New York, Cheryl was able to travel all over the world. Cheryl returned to Madison to raise her daughter, Camille, surrounded by her family. As a registered gemologist, Cheryl was able to work side by side with her father, Jerry and brother, Mark at their jewelry store. She enjoyed spending her free time doing photography, crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. Most of all, Cheryl enjoyed spending time with Camille and being involved in her school and after school events. Cheryl is survived by her daughter, Camille; father, Jerry (Tammy) of Madison; brothers, Jeff of Madison, Tim (Kristi) and their children, Jared and Savannah of Madison, Dan (Stephanie) and their daughter, Danielle of Roy, Utah, and Mark (Kristie) of McFarland. She was preceded in death by her mother, Karen Hermanson; grandparents, Harlow and Lenice Hermanson and John and Lillian Weston. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. My prayers go out for little Camille and the rest of Cheryl's family. She was a dear friend to me, I miss her everyday. She loved Camille dearly, and has so many people who are deeply saddened by her passing. Rest in His Peace, my friend. Ki o tsukete.
