Obituary
Robert M. Norberg, age 63, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 14, 2010, at the place he loved most, the family cottage in northern Wisconsin. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather ("Ba"), and friend to many.
Bob was born in Madison, and moved to Wausau as a child. He graduated from Wausau High School before attending the University of Wisconsin Madison, where Bob graduated with a degree in zoology. Bob went on to pursue a very successful career in the production and sales of laboratory animals and vaccines with Sprague Dawley. The company later acquired by Harland Industries, where Bob spent the majority of his working years, many of them as vice president. One of the things Bob enjoyed most about his work with Harlan was the many relationships he built with his colleagues. Bob was very fortunate in his career to have traveled to numerous countries where he met amazing people that remained his life long friends. Before retiring in March of 2009, Bob finished his career as managing director of United Vaccines, a former subsidiary of Harlan.
Bob was married to the love of his life, Wendy (Walterbach), in June of 1973, and started their family soon after which included a son, Rob and daughter, Kristen. Bob loved his family. He especially enjoyed being "Ba" to his grandchildren, Finn and Annika. Bob delighted in vacationing with his family, summers at the cottage and spending time outdoors: especially golfing, hunting, fishing, and boating. He was an avid reader, sudoku "champ", crossword genius, music lover, and die-hard Badgers and Packers fan. After many family vacations to the Caribbean, Bob and Wendy decided they like Belize best as their winter haven, where the family made many memories over the last twelve years.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Theodore.
He is survived by his loving mother, Velma (Lassig); a sister; his wife, Wendy; son, Rob; daughter, Kristen (Jafferis); son-in-law, but son at heart, Jason Jafferis; and beautiful grandchildren, Finn Norberg and Annika Jafferis. He will also be missed by his faithful canine companion, Duke.
Bob left us too early and is dearly loved and deeply missed by his family and friends. Bob will always hold a special place in all of our hearts, forever.
A private celebration of Bob's life will be held with his immediate family and close friends. A memorial fund will be established.
A special thanks to Gunderson Funeral Home for their care and guidance.

Dear Wendy,
I was so very sad to learn of Bob's very sudden and unexpected death. I always enjoyed knowing Bob and was pleased you had a good life together. It was clear in high school that this would happen.
Please know that your many friends are with you now and will be in the future.
With sympathy,
Dave Ullrich

Dear Wendy,
So sorry to hear about Bob. I knew him mostly from our grade school days at Zion. He was always a nice and kidding kind of person. Please accept our deepest sorrows for you and the Norbert family.
My deepest sympathies, Tom and Emi Tranetzki
