Obituary

Disch, Betty R. OREGON- Betty Rebecca (Ryan) Disch, age 87, of Oregon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at Main Street Quarters Assisted Living in Oregon with family by her side. She was born on Nov. 18, 1922, in Blanchardville, the daughter of Willard and Bessie (Wallom) Ryan. She was united in marriage to Clarence Disch on April 2, 1942, in her parent's home in Belleville. Betty and Clarence farmed for 34 years in the Middleton/Verona area and in rural Oregon. Betty was employed at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for 20 years. After retirement she volunteered at the Oregon Elementary School library, Oregon Manor Nursing Home and church. Betty was an active member at The People's United Methodist Church, Hope Circle, Oregon Senior Center and was on the Council of Aging. Betty especially loved going to The Fireside Theater for the musicals and Christian concerts with her daughters and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Ryan. Betty is survived by three daughters, Diane (Curtis) Newton of Oregon, ShirleyNicholson of Rio, and Sharon (Neil) Kruschek of Waunakee; two sons, James (Bonnie) Disch, and Gary (Donna) Disch, both of Oregon;12 grandchildren, Steve (Deb) Newton, Doug Newton, Duane (Ingrid) Newton, Russell Nicholson, Calvin (Laura) Kruschek, Randy (Mary) Disch, Cory Disch, Jenny (Scott) Koberle, Patty Disch, Rick Disch, Nicole Noyce and Mark Noyce; and 27 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Clarence; her parents; two sisters, Madeline (Archie) Butts, and Lucille (Norman) Olson; two brothers, Paul (Pat and Mary Lou) Ryan, and an infant brother; two grandsons, James Charles, and James Arthur; and a son-in-law, Curtis (Alton) Newton. Funeral services will be held at THE PEOPLE'S UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 103 N. Alpine Parkway, Oregon at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010 with the Rev. Jon Claude Bartlett presiding. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park Street (one block south of Highway 138), Oregon, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 30, 2010 and also on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The People's United Methodist Church or HospiceCare, Inc. Thank you to the staff and residents at Oregon Manor and Main Street Quarters in Oregon, the members of The People's United Methodist Church, and also to HospiceCare, for their care and compassion. The family would also like to thank all the people who came by to visit with their mother. Betty was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and loved everyone.
