Obituary
BROOKLYN-Brian D. Booth, age 63, of Brooklyn died unexpectedly on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010 at St. Marys Hospital. He was born on Oct. 16, 1946 in Fort Campbell, Ky., the son of Carroll and Margaret (Pinsch) Booth. His father served many years in the U. S. Army. The family lived in Louisiana, Kansas, Michigan and Germany, finally settling in Madison in 1956. Brian graduated from Madison East High School in 1964. He then enlisted and proudly served in the U. S. Army in the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to Joyce Deibert on July 1, 1972. Brian graduated from Madison Area Technical College with a Commercial Art degree. He worked in the Madison area, and was employed for more than 25 years at WISCO Industries in Oregon until his retirement in 2009. During his lifetime Brian enjoyed many activities including weight lifting and pulling rope. In 1984, he was a member of the Lodi Tuggers who represented the U. S. in the World Tug of War Championships. He loved building cars and was especially proud of his 1937 Chevy coupe .He enjoyed drag racing and traveling. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Joyce, of Brooklyn; his beloved son, Kyle of Madison; his brother, Daryl (Cindy) of Brooklyn; his mother-in-law, Marjorie Kopff; two sisters-in-law, Jeanne (Duane) Hawkinson, and Jackie (Greg) Leckwee ;his nephew and nieces, Derek, Nicole and Lauren, and many friends and relatives. Brian will be greatly missed by his beloved dogs, Willy and Roxy. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, (formerly Hawthorns), 1150 Park Street, Oregon, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service on Tuesday. The family would like to extend thanks to the staff at the VA Hospital and Clinics for their wonderful ongoing care and to the staff at St. Mary's ER for their compassion and concern on the night of his death. Brian was a big man with a big heart who will be greatly missed.
Visitation:
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service on Tuesday.
Service:
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, (formerly Hawthorns), 1150 Park Street, Oregon, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010.
