Obituary

OREGON/BRIGGSVILLE/BARABOO- Everett W. Gouker, age 89, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at the Harbor House in Monroe. He was born on March 20, 1921, the son of Harvey and Sarah (Wernick) Gouker. Everett was united in marriage to June Marie Richards on Aug. 9, 1943. Together they farmed in rural Oregon until Everett became a carpenter. In 1975, he and June bought and operated Lake Mason campground in Briggsville until Junes death in 1988. He married Thelma Williams in July 1989 and she passed away in 1994. Everett married Marcella Miller in Jan. 1996, together they resided in Baraboo. He is survived by his wife, Marcella; three sons, Dick (Nancy) of Edgerton, Jim of New Lisbon, and David (Carol) of Madison; daughter, Sue (Allen) Ross of Juda; six grandchildren, Mark (Linda) Gouker of Edgerton, Scott (Mary) Gouker of Stoughton, Anne (Steve) Gerke of Edgerton, Jim (Angy) Gouker II of New Lisbon, Kevin (Stephanie) Ross of Greenville and Brian (Heather) Ross of Evansville; eleven great grandchildren; four step-children, Carol (Tim) Thomas of Stoughton, David (Carmie) Teasdale of Baraboo, Paul Teasdale of Prairie du Sac, and Beth (Bob) Vivier;and nieces and nephews. Everett was preceded in death by his parents; first wife and mother of his children, June Marie Gouker; second wife, Thelma Gouker; brothers, George and Gerald Gouker; sister, Margaret Van Sloun; and mother and father-in-law, Owen and Marie Richards. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, Oregon on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, with Reverend Jeff Cole presiding. Burial will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Cemetery: Burial will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery. I enjoyed knowing Everett as a neighbor and as part of the Wednesday morning breakfast group (think biscuits and gravy). He was always friendly and smiling and sharing from the garden. Marlys Schulz
