MIDDLETON - George David Solner, age 53, passed away on July 13, 2010, at HospiceCare in Fitchburg, WI following a courageous battle against cancer.George was born in Urbana, Illinois January 29, 1957, the son of Edward and Patricia Solner of Middleton. George was a lifetime resident of Middleton.George was a Middleton High School graduate and attended the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, where he graduated from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning.He and his wife, Susan, were married on September 1, 2006 and enjoyed many happy times together, both at home and during their many travels.George was employed with the firm of Edward A. Solner Architects for 25+ years until he joined Zingg Design as Director of Architectural Design in 2001.George was a loving husband, son, father, uncle and friend to many. He loved golfing, boating, auto racing, skiing and travel, especially with his wife Susan.George is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Susan (Quarne), daughter, Kelsey, son, Nelson ("Bubba"), step-children, Jenna Quarne of Minneapolis, Jillian Quarne of Middleton and Ben Quarne (Caitlin) of Stewartsville, NJ, sister, Donna (Dan) Dehnert of Middleton, sister, Diane (Brad) Duesler of Middleton, brother, Mark (Alice) Udvari-Solner of Madison, brother, Jeff Solner of Madison and brother, David (Chip) Solner of Apple Valley, MN, brother-in-laws, Robin (Marcia) Goldberg and family of Monona, and Gary (Sabine) and family of Riverside, CA. In addition, he had nine nieces and nephews: Monica and Hanna Dehnert, Zach (Jenna) Duesler, Emily (Jeff) Jasinowski, Kati Duesler, Madeline and Haven Udvari-Solner and Stone and Cole Solner.He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Nancy.Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 7337 Hubbard Ave., Middleton, from 9 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at noon. A luncheon will be served at the church immediately following the service.Susan and the entire family want to extend their deepest appreciation to Dr. Daniel Mulkerin and his staff at U.W. Hospital Oncology Clinic as well as HospiceCare for their unending care and compassion throughout our journey.In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund has been established in George's memory.
