I am sorry to hear Gil has left us. This man loved life and exemplified a passion for living. We met in 1974 when I happened to hold the elevator for him at 70 W. Hedding. Gil literally and physically put his foot in the door for me and within 10 minutes I was being interviewed for my first real job with Santa Clara County at 18 years of age. Thank you Gil for your kindness. That moment changed my life. You were that kind of guy.
