Sylvia Cecelia Kundrat

MADISON- Sylvia Poole Kundrat, age 96, of Madison, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2010. She was born on June 10, 1914, in Barnsville, Minn., the daughter of Daniel and Mary (Ethier) Akey. Sylvia married Charles Edwin Poole in 1934, he preceded her in death in 1978. She married Andrew Kundrat in 1984. Sylvia was a member of American Legion Auxillary #501, Elks and Community Christian Church. She enjoyed the live band at the Avenue Bar. She is survived by her daughter, Dian (Rollie) Peck; six grandchildren, Cindy (Bill) Henry, Steve (Dawn) Poole, Charles (Kris) Poole, Mary (Brian) Lucas, Amy Peck, and Laura Michel and her friend Paul; thirteen great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Mildred; step children, Doug (Debbie) Kundrat and Barb Kundrat; three step grandchildren; her beloved cat, Elsie and many extended family members. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Poole; second husband, Andrew Kundrat; son, Daniel Poole; brother, Clifford Akey; three step brothers; and very special friend, Thayer Burnhan. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 5020 Maher Ave., Madison on Saturday, July 24, 2010. Burial will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Oregon. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sylvias honor to HospiceCare Inc or Community Christian Church. The family would like to extend a thank you to Harmony Assisted Living in McFarland for the special love they gave Sylvia.
