Obituary

OCALA, FLORIDA/ MADISON- Bernice M. Moe, age 79, died on Saturday, July 3, 2010. She was born on Aug. 10, 1930, in Juneau, Wisconin, the daughter of William "Bill" and Adeline Becker. Bernice married Vernon Moe in August of 1966, in Madison. The marriage was blessed with two daughters. Bernice attended schools in Juneau and graduated in 1948 from Juneau High School. Following high school, she attended UW Oshkosh where she received her degree in elementary education. Bernice came to Madison to teach at Schenk and Elvehjem Schools. The three Rs in education were her passion. Bernice enjoyed reading, gardening and traveling with her husband. In the early months of 2010, she was able to establish a library at her church, Christ Community Church in Ocala, Fla. A memorial has been established in her honor. Bernice is survived by her husband, Vernon; two daughters, Cheryl (Mark) Hulliberger and Michelle Williams; five grandchildren, Caitlin, Zach, Elizabeth, Emily and Brooklyn; sister, Ardis (Lester) Schussman; brother, Calvin (Phylis) Becker; sister-in-law, Beatrice Becker; brother-in-law, Robert (Nancy) Moe; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Duane Becker. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, on Saturday, July 10, 2010, with the Rev. Jim Folk and the Rev. Cal Steiner presiding. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday.
