Tachon, Jeannette A.
OREGON- Jeannette Anna Tachon, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Oregon Manor after an extended illness with Alzheimer's. She was born on September 21, 1922, in Deerfield, the daughter of Henry and Lydia (Wolff) Potratz. Jeannette was united in marriage to Harry E. Tachon Jr., on April 17, 1948, at Norway Grove Lutheran Church in Dane County. While in high school, she worked part-time at the DeForest Bank and later for Chase Lumber Company of DeForest. After graduation, Jeannette was employed as a legal secretary for Attorney Francis Lamb, the executive consul to Governor Goodland. Because of her exceptional shorthand skills, she also recorded the monthly meetings for the Madison Police and Fire Department. During WWII, Jeannette did her part by working nights and weekends at Ray-O-Vac assembling small parts for the war effort. After her marriage in 1948, she farmed for over 50 years with her husband in the Oregon area. Jeannette loved listening to music, sing-a-longs and dancing at the Red Barn and Park Ponderosa on Saturday nights. She was a long time member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Oregon. Jeannette is survived by her children, Jim (Joan) Tachon of Woodstock, Ga., Sheldon (Laurie) Tachon of Oregon and Darcelle (Philip) Krause of Oregon; three grandchildren, David Tachon, and Leo and Caroline Krause; sister, Doris Manthe of DeForest; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry; sister, Ruth Ellingson of Sun Prairie; brothers, Marlow Potratz of DeForest and Kenny Potratz of DeForest; ; and granddaughter, Kathryn Marie Tachon of Woodstock, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 625 E. Netherwood St., Oregon on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, with Rev. Paul Markquart presiding. Burial will be at Mount Horeb Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, Oregon from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010. The family would like to thank the staff at Oregon Manor for their care and compassion.
Cemetery:
Burial will be at Mount Horeb Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, Oregon from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010.
Service:
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at ST. JOHNS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 625 E. Netherwood St., Oregon on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, with Rev. Paul Markquart presiding.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I am thinking of you. I wish I could be there. I did not get to know Jeannette much, but the times that I did visit with her, I understood why Darcelle is such a kind, gracious person. Love you. Joan
