January 30, 1935 - June 07, 2010
Obituary
PLAINS-Marvin L. Knipfer completed his earthly journey and went home on Monday, June 7, 2010 to be with his Savior and Lord. He was born into this world through Florence and Frank Knipfer on Jan. 30, 1935. He was "Reborn" again into the Kingdom of God somewhere along life's way. His earthly accomplishments during his lifetime were overshadowed by the joys he found in his love for his family and close friends. He also found great satisfaction in the 50 years of shepherding D&M Concrete Co. of which he was the founder along with his partner, friend and brother Duane. He took great delight in remembering the days in which he, his Dad and all his brothers and sons participated to make it the company it is today. Marv's love for children will not be forgotten, as it will always shine through his own children, grandchildren and the many who knew him as "Grandpa Marv". He spent four years in the U. S. Navy serving his country that he loved so much. Marv is survived by his loving wife Carolyn (Carol) who blessed his later life and shared many days of happiness in the "Golden Years". They served each other as one and he knew her intimately as his soul mate, devoted wife and as a sister in Christ. He loved being spoiled rotten by her and told everyone that he could. He is survived by his three sons and two daughters: Dan Knipfer, Belleville; Tim (Mary Kay) Knipfer, Cross Plains; Ric Boelkes, New Auburn; Cindy (Mike) Stassi, Cottage Grove; Kari (Joe) Anthony, Muskogee, OK; and a special step-daughter, Lori (Brian) Hormig who shared their love and home. Also four loving step-children: Ken Cornellier; Tina Cornellier; Nicole (Cameron) Banker, Beloit and Angie Cornellier, El Mirage, AZ; 27 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna (Dick) Nyhus, Bloomer; and three brothers: Duane Knipfer, Bloomer; Frank (Marilyn) Knipfer; John (Kay) Knipfer, Deerfield; also Kay Knipfer (first wife and mother of four of his children) nieces, nephews and many close friends. Marv was preceded in death by his Dad, Frank Knipfer Sr.; his mom, Florence Knipfer and Maxine (wife and mother of Ric). Funeral services will be held at BLACKHAWK EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, 9620 Brader Way, Verona at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 11, 2010 with the Reverend Dave Gagnon presiding. Burial will be in Valley Home Cemetery, Cross Plains. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 10, 2010 and also on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers it is requested that all memorials be made to Blackhawk Church or to HospiceCare, Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711. "This is the Day that he has waited for. Let us be glad and rejoice in it"(Psalm 118:24)A very special thank you to Dr. Dan Jarzemsky (and staff) for all the wonderful years of care as physician and friend along with the compassionate and excellent care of Dr. David Hei (and staff) and the great Hospice support team.
