Mrs. Valeria Margaret Krantz

MADISON - Valeria M. "Val" Krantz, age 86, passed away on Wednesday June 2, 2010 at her home in Madison. She was born July 8, 1923 in Martinsville, the daughter of Peter and Gertrude (Endres) Laufenberg. Val married Leo F. Krantz on October 5, 1944 in El Paso, Texas, and they later celebrated with family and friends by renewing their vows at St. Mary\'s of Pine Bluff. Val led a very active life, with interests that included; ballroom dancing, swimming, jogging, and biking. She also was a seamstress, played the organ and was an avid gardener. She is survived by her husband Leo F. Krantz of Madison, three children; Janet (Todd) Hayes of Madison, Sharon (John) Gerl of McFarland, Kathy (Dr. William) Clancy of Birmingham, AL; four grandchildren; Tamara (Jason) Markgraf, Eric (Molly) Hayes, Dr. Sarah (Eric) Marcoe, and Zachary Gerl; three great- grandchildren; Alexi and Kelsi Markgraf, and Finnegan Hayes; brother Leonard (Agnes) Laufenberg; sister Loretta Nordness; brother Robert (Mona) Laufenberg; sister Rita Amdahl; sister Genevieve (Conrad) Markley. Val is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Elenora Laufenberg, and a brother Wilfred Laufenberg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at ST. MARY OF PINE BLUFF, 3673 County Trk P. Cross Plains, at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 with Fr. Richard Heilman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary of Pine Bluff Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, June 7, 2010 at Gunderson West Funeral Home, 7435 University Ave. Middleton, and also on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the church.
