Joyce Isaksen

MIDDLETON-Joyce I. Isaksen, age 83, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2010 at the Don & Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. She was born on June 8, 1927, in Lodi, the daughter of Walter and Clara (Schmiedlin) Loper. Joyce was united in marriage to Robert Isaksen on March 18, 1950 in Lodi. Joyce attended UW-LaCrosse. She worked as a secretary for the Middleton Cross Plains School District primarily for the West Middleton and Middleton Junction schools for 21 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Middleton Opti-Mrs., the VFW Auxiliary and the UW Madison International Foreign Exchange Student Program. Joyce enjoyed cooking and knitting, but treasured most the time spent with her family.Joyce is survived by her children, Carol (Dan) Pulsfus of Portage, Pat (Dick) Spencer of Onalaska; grandchildren, Richard, John and Emily Pulsfus, Stephanie (Phil) Rivera, Bob Spencer, Jeff ( Emily) Spencer and three great-grandchildren, Natalie and Jackson Spencer and Lorelai Rivera. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 2006; her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton at 10:30 Am on Saturday, June 26, 2010, with Pastor Dan Pulsfus presiding. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Madison. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Don & Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center, Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711.
